Reconnect the application
Authorization to a QuickBooks Online company expires periodically. When it does, reporting stops updating until an administrator reauthorizes the connection.
Why a reconnection is needed
Intuit limits how long an authorization remains valid. A connection also ends if an administrator disconnects the application, if the QuickBooks Online subscription lapses, or if the authorizing user's access is removed. In each case the application stops retrieving data and the dashboard shows the date of the last successful refresh rather than failing silently.
How to reconnect
- Confirm you are signed in to QuickBooks Online as an administrator of the company that needs reconnecting.
- Contact the Office of the Chief Business Officer to have the authorization link issued for that specific company.
- Open the link, review the requested permission, which is read access to accounting data, and select the correct company from the list.
- Approve the connection. Authorization is granted per company, so repeat for each entity that needs reconnecting.
- Confirm on the dashboard that the last refresh timestamp updates on the next scheduled run.
Before you reauthorize
Reauthorize only from a link issued directly by the Office of the Chief Business Officer. Do not approve a QuickBooks connection request that arrives by unexpected email or message, even if it appears to reference this application.
